Majestic

Majestic

I call this shot “Majestic” because the Crane is so still.  I had been following him for a few minutes (some might say stalking him) when he finally stopped for a brief moment.  He had heard something in the distance and was looking for what it was.  At that moment I took the shot.  As he heard the shutter click – he took off and was gone.  That was okay because I was left with this amazing image of “Mr. Majestic.

Celestial morning

Celestial Cup 4

Sometimes we photographers happen across an image that is just begging to be captured on film – digital or traditional. This was one of those days. It was early on a Saturday morning a couple of weeks ago. I was just putting some papers away in my office and as I came around the corner here was this perfect beam of light falling along the corner of this candle. Running to get my camera I shot about 15 frames before the sun shifted and then the beam was covered by clouds. The only “work” I did to the photo was to crop and slightly darken the background. This brought out the sunbeam more. Enjoy – Matt

October morning

October morning

I saw this image as I was driving home. The clouds initially caught my attention. I pulled over, grabbed the camera from the bag and caught this shot. As a professional photographer I never leave home without my camera. I have learned the hard way that the photos you always remember are the ones that you didn’t get.
